King Salman Gate Project
The King Salman Gate Project, a multi-use destination adjacent to the Grand Mosque in Makkah al-Mukarramah, was announced on October 15, 2025 by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company.
Objectives of King Salman Gate Project
King Salman Gate Project aims to develop the infrastructure of Makkah al-Mukarramah, particularly the central area, transforming it into a global model for urban and serving as a key contributor to the region’s development efforts and the facilitation of visits, while providing high-quality services to visitors of the Grand Mosque and enriching their religious and cultural journey in alignment with the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Program.
It also aims to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of Makkah al-Mukarramah through the development and rehabilitation of 19,000 square meters of cultural and heritage sites, enriching visitors’ experiences and contributing to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030’s economic diversification goals by generating approximately 300,000 job opportunities by 2036.
Features of King Salman Gate Project
King Salman Gate Project spans an area of twelve million km2 and provides residential, cultural, and service facilities surrounding the Grand Mosque. It also provides capacity for approximately 900,000 worshippers within the indoor prayer halls and outdoor courtyards.
The project is connected to public transportation networks to facilitate access to the Grand Mosque and integrates Makkah al-Mukarramah’s rich architectural heritage with the finest contemporary lifestyle standards, ensuring the highest levels of comfort.
Implementation of King Salman Gate Project
King Salman Gate Project is being developed by RUA AlHaram AlMakki Company, one of the companies of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), to support the implementation of its strategy by elevating the level of urban development in the area surrounding the Grand Mosque, making it one of the world’s leading models of development.
