Saudipedia's electronic platform, hereinafter referred to as the “Saudipedia Platform,” is available for your personal use. Your access to and use of the Platform are subject to these Terms and Conditions of Use and to the applicable laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Your access to and use of the Platform constitute unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, whether you are a registered user or not. Such acceptance shall be effective from the date of your first use of the Platform. Accordingly, you acknowledge and agree to comply with these Terms.
Any amendment to these Terms and Conditions shall become effective immediately upon announcement, unless otherwise stated. Your continued use of the Platform after such announcement constitutes full acceptance of the amendment.
Restrictions on Use
By using Saudipedia Platform, you agree to refrain from the following:
- Uploading or downloading files that contain software, materials, data, or other information that you do not own or do not have a license to use.
- Using the Platform in any manner to send unsolicited or commercial emails, or any similar misuse of the Platform.
- Uploading or downloading files that contain viruses, corrupted data, malicious software, or any content that may affect the integrity, reliability, or continuous availability of the Platform.
- Publishing, advertising, distributing, or disseminating any materials or information that are defamatory, unlawful, pornographic, obscene, in violation of Islamic teachings or public morals, or otherwise illegal through Saudipedia Platform.
- Participating in unlawful activities within Saudi Arabia through Saudipedia Platform.
- Advertising any product or service on Saudipedia Platform that would place it in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Using any device, software, or procedure to interfere with or attempt to interfere with the proper operation of the Platform.
- Engaging in any act that constitutes a violation of the Anti-Cyber Crime Law or any other applicable law in Saudi Arabia.
Linking to Saudipedia Platform
- Creating or publishing electronic links related to the Platform on other websites is prohibited, except for publishing direct links to the Platform on websites whose objectives and orientations do not conflict with Saudipedia’s goals, directions, and policies.
- It is prohibited to display links to the Platform in any context or on any website, except for publishing direct links to the Platform on websites whose objectives and orientations do not conflict with Saudipedia’s goals, general directions, and policies.
- Saudipedia shall not, under any circumstances, be deemed a partner or affiliated with any trademarks, logos, commercial or service marks, or other means used or displayed on websites linked to the Platform, unless officially approved by the relevant Saudipedia departments.
- Saudipedia reserves the full right to disable any link from any unauthorized website or from websites containing inappropriate, offensive, obscene, pornographic, improper, unacceptable, unlawful, or any names, material, or information that violates law or infringe upon any public or private rights.
- Saudipedia bears no responsibility for the content of any external website accessed through or linking to the Platform.
Links from Saudipedia Platform
- Links to other platforms or websites may be provided for user convenience. Saudipedia does not bear responsibility for the content or credibility of such platforms or websites and does not endorse their content. Therefore, accessing such links to platforms or websites not endorsed by Saudipedia is at the user’s own responsibility.
- Saudipedia Platform does not guarantee the availability or functionality of external links.
Commenting and Electronic Participation Terms
- The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Saudipedia, its employees, and those responsible for managing, maintaining, updating, and evaluating the Platform from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from the use of the Platform.
- All comments submitted through electronic participation channels are subject to moderation to ensure compliance with commenting standards. Saudipedia reserves the right not to publish any comments deemed inappropriate. Commenting standards include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Adherence to public morals, the laws of Saudi Arabia, and Islamic teachings, and avoidance of offensive or inappropriate language.
- Relevance and adherence of the comment to the topic under discussion.
- Avoidance of personal attacks that do not contribute constructively to the discussion.
- Avoidance of sectarian, racist, or discriminatory content.
- Ensuring accuracy when quoting Quranic texts or religious opinions, and preferably leaving such matters to specialists.
- Avoidance of sharing personal or private contact information.
Property Rights
- The Information Technology Department of Saudipedia technically supervises the Platform. All content, including software and information, is the property of Saudipedia and is fully protected under Saudi laws governing copyright, trademarks, and intellectual property rights.
- Unless otherwise stated, it is prohibited to sell, license, lease, modify, copy, reproduce, reprint, download, advertise, transmit, distribute, publicly display, edit, or create derivative works from the Platform’s content for commercial purposes without prior written approval from Saudipedia. For non-commercial scientific, research, or public awareness purposes, quotation is permitted provided that proper attribution to Saudipedia Platform is given.
- Any modification of Saudipedia Platform’s content is prohibited.
- All graphics and images on the Platform are protected by copyright and may not be reproduced or exploited in any manner without prior written approval from Saudipedia.
Termination of Use
Saudipedia reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to terminate, restrict, or suspend a user’s access to and use of the Platform without prior notice for any reason, including operational reasons, such as maintenance or the addition of new services, or violations of these Terms and Conditions, or any conduct deemed by Saudipedia as unlawful or harmful to others. Upon termination, the user shall no longer be authorized to access the Platform.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Saudi Arabia, and Saudi courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising therefrom.
- Users are subject to the Anti-Cyber Crime Law for any violations stipulated therein.
- Users are subject to legal accountability for misuse of Saudipedia Platform.
Limitation of Liability
Access to and use of Saudipedia Platform are at the user’s own responsibility. Saudipedia shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the user, reliance on any content, or the conduct or ideas of any other user. The user acknowledges that any loss or damage arising from use of the Platform is solely the user’s responsibility, without any obligation on Saudipedia.
Virus Protection
Saudipedia makes reasonable efforts to examine and test the Platform’s content. Users are responsible for running antivirus software on any content downloaded from the Platform. Saudipedia shall not be liable for any losses, interruptions, or damage to user data or devices resulting from use of the Platform or its content.
Users must report any misuse or suspected security vulnerabilities affecting Saudipedia Platform via email at info@saudipedia.com. Failure to do so may result in legal accountability.
Disclaimer and Waiver of Claims
- Saudipedia Platform and its content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without any representations, warranties, or guarantees. Saudipedia does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation and bears no responsibility for any issues arising from use of the Platform, its content, or any linked websites.
- Users do not acquire ownership rights over any communications or information transmitted through the Platform, nor is confidentiality guaranteed. No rights, licenses, or privileges are granted to users through interactive use of the Platform.
Indemnification
The user releases and indemnifies Saudipedia, its employees, and those responsible for managing, maintaining, updating, and providing the Platform from all liabilities, obligations, and compensations arising from or related to the use of the Platform.
