Agreeing to the Privacy Policy signifies your agreement to the privacy terms and conditions governing all content provided by Saudipedia on its official platform, as well as any ongoing amendments and updates made thereto in accordance with the needs and nature of its tasks.

Third: Changes to the Privacy Policy

Saudipedia reserves the right to make any changes to this policy at any time. You are required to read and review the policy published on its platform periodically to stay informed of any changes or amendments, which shall take effect immediately upon publication of the updated policy.

By reading this policy, you acknowledge and agree to all changes contained herein.

If Saudipedia or any other entity wishes to use your personal data for purposes other than those stated in Article Seven, this shall not be permitted without obtaining your prior approval.

Fourth: Legal Basis for the Collection and Processing of Personal Data

  • The explicit approval granted by the user for the collection and processing of their personal data for a specific purpose stated in the Privacy Policy.
  • Where the personal data has been collected from a publicly available source.
  • In response to an official request from a government entity, in accordance with the authorities vested in it under national laws and regulations.
  • Processing for a realized interest of the personal data subject where contacting them is impossible or difficult.
  • To achieve the public interest, or for security purposes, or to implement another law, or to fulfill judicial requirements, with the parameters and controls of such purposes defined by applicable laws and regulations.
  • To perform an agreement to which the data subject is a party.
  • Where the data is processed in a manner that does not lead to the identification of the personal data subject.

Fifth: Method of Collecting Personal Data

Upon accessing the Saudipedia platform, completing any form or survey, providing any information and submitting it through the browser, or contacting us via telephone, email, or social media, all data you provide is collected, stored, used, and retained on Saudipedia’s servers. This also includes the automatic collection of data through cookies as described in Article Six, as well as data obtained from third parties.

Sixth: What Personal Data Saudipedia Collects

1. Data Collected Directly from the User:

Saudipedia collects the following data directly from users during registration, browsing, or accessing the content provided on its official platform:

  • Basic Data: Such as full name, date of birth, age, gender, nationality, and marital status.
  • Identity Verification Data: Such as type of identification and ID/residence/passport number.
  • Contact Information: Such as the place of residence (country, region, city), neighborhood, phone number, mobile number, and email address.
  • Educational Information and Qualifications: Such as education and training, language skills, academic degree, university name, expected graduation year, major, and GPA.
  • Professional Information and Qualifications: Such as CV, work experience (employer, job title), employment dates, professional skills, personal interests, and years of experience.
  • Health Data: Includes any personal information relating to the individual’s physical, mental, or psychological health, which the user provides explicitly.
  • Social Media Information: Such as user profiles on social media platforms like LinkedIn.

Important Note:

  • If a user provides personal information of another person, the user must ensure that the individual whose data is being shared has agreed to sharing it with Saudipedia.

2. Data Collected Indirectly:

  • Cookies: Information sent by the user’s browser when visiting Saudipedia platform, stored on the user’s device. Cookies are used to collect statistics about the user’s visit based on the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the device and are used to enhance the user experience on the platform.
  • Data Obtained from Other Parties: Such as data retrieved from Nafath platform to verify the user’s identity.

Seventh: Purposes of Processing Personal Data

Your personal data is collected for use, storage, and sharing for organizational, enhancement, and development purposes, as follows:

  • Fulfilling the data requirements for applying for a job or training.
  • Sending invitations to participate in workshops, courses, and conferences.
  • Resolving and addressing any inquiries or complaints you may have.
  • Improving the user experience.
  • Analyzing data and issuing internal reports that serve necessary work requirements, such as statistical reports on the number of readers and platform users.
  • Conducting surveys, interviews, and gathering opinions.
  • Running awareness campaigns about Saudipedia or its affiliated programs.
  • Meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Detecting and addressing violations, cybersecurity threats, misuse, and related issues.

Eighth: Sharing and Disclosure of Personal Data

Saudipedia shares users’ data when necessary based on the principles of “need to know” and “least privilege,” in accordance with the purposes outlined in Article Seven. Users’ data may also be shared with government entities to serve national interests, within the scope of their authority. Saudipedia is committed not to share users’ data with any other parties, except in cases specified in Article Fifteen of the Personal Data Protection Law.

Saudipedia reserves the right to disclose personal data in the following cases, in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law:

  • The user’s agreement to the disclosure of their personal data.
  • Collection of data from a public and publicly available source.
  • Where the requesting entity is a public authority, for security purposes, the implementation of another law, or to fulfill judicial requirements.
  • If the disclosure is limited to processing the data later in a manner that does not lead to the identification of the user or individual specifically.

Ninth: Retention and Disposal of Personal Data

Saudipedia destroys personal data immediately upon the completion of the purpose for which it was collected, using secure methods and techniques.

However, it may be necessary to retain personal data even after the purpose of its collection has ended in the following cases:

  • If there is a legal basis justifying its retention for a specific period. The data shall be destroyed after the expiration of this period or the completion of the purpose of its collection, whichever is longer.
  • If the personal data is related to a case pending before a judicial authority and its retention is required for that purpose. The data shall be destroyed after the judicial procedures related to the case are completed.
  • If all elements that identify the individual personally are removed.

Tenth: Storage of Personal Data and Data Security

Saudipedia is keen to take appropriate measures to protect the personal data that users share with us. It implements administrative, technical, and physical preventive measures designed to safeguard the personal data provided by users from damage, loss, alteration, access, disclosure, or unintended, unlawful, or unauthorized use. These security measures are subject to our periodic review to keep pace with changes in business practices, technologies, and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Personal data is stored and processed securely within the geographical boundaries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to ensure the protection of the national digital sovereignty over this data. All servers containing such data are secured and controlled in accordance with the regulations issued by the National Cybersecurity Authority and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).
  • Personal data will only be accessible to Saudipedia employees who need to view or use it in accordance with their job duties and responsibilities, based on the principles of “need to know” and “least privilege.” Before using or processing such data, the necessity will be evaluated to ensure alignment with the purpose for which the data was collected.
  • When engaging external service providers responsible for processing data, Saudipedia requires them to adhere to the same standards it follows and takes all necessary measures to ensure the security of personal data, regardless of where the personal data is transferred or stored.

 

Eleventh: User's Rights Regarding the Processing of User's Personal Data

Saudipedia makes every effort to ensure users’ rights in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law and other regulatory frameworks, as follows:

  • Right to Be Informed: This Privacy Policy has been prepared to inform you of all the provisions that must be communicated to the personal data subject before or at the time of collecting their personal data.
  • Right of Access: You have the right to access your personal data, request its correction, completion, or updating, obtain a clear copy, restrict its processing, transfer it, object to its processing, or request the destruction of data that is no longer needed, provided this does not conflict with the legal bases and legitimate interests set forth in the Personal Data Protection Law. These requests can be submitted via email to info@saudipedia.com.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw your consent for the processing of your personal data at any time, unless there are legal or judicial requirements that necessitate otherwise under the Personal Data Protection Law. This can be done by sending an email to info@saudipedia.com.

Twelfth: Personal Data of Children and People of Disabilities

If Saudipedia collects personal data of a child under the age of 18 or a person of Disability (POD), the purpose of such collection is solely to provide services to them. Saudipedia will not disclose their data or merge it with other data. The parent or guardian will be notified if there is a need to process such data.

Saudipedia platform may contain external links to other websites. These linked sites may collect information about users through the services they provide or by setting cookies. User interaction with those sites is subject to the privacy policies provided by those entities.

Personal Data Protection Regulations
