The Women's Tennis Association (WTA) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a tournament featuring the world's top female tennis players. It is the first professional women's tennis tournament in Saudi Arabia, with a prize pool of USD15.2 million.

Agreement to host the WTA Finals in Saudi Arabia

The agreement signed between the Saudi Tennis Federation and the WTA grants Saudi Arabia the right to host three consecutive editions of the WTA Finals in the capital, Riyadh, from 2024 until 2026. The tournament will be held in accordance with the highest global standards, with a prize pool of USD15.2 million provided by the WTA.

WTA Finals 2024

For the first time, Saudi Arabia hosted the WTA Finals in Riyadh from November 2 to 9, 2024. The tournament featured eight of the world's top-ranked players in the singles competition and eight teams in the women’s doubles competition. The event was organized under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport, in collaboration with the Saudi Tennis Federation and the WTA, with sponsorship from the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Winners of the WTA Finals 2024

The WTA Finals were held at the indoor arena of King Saud University. American player Coco Gauff claimed the singles title for the first time in her career after defeating China’s Zheng Qinwen in a match that lasted over three hours, with a score of two sets to one. This victory made her the first-ever WTA champion crowned in Saudi Arabia.

In the doubles category, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and New Zealand’s Erin Routliffe secured the title after defeating Czech player Katerina Siniakova and American player Taylor Townsend in straight sets. With this victory, they remained undefeated throughout the tournament.

The tournament matches in both the singles and doubles categories were attended by more than 21,000 spectators.
