When Was the First Issue of Okaz Newspaper Published?

The first issue of Okaz Newspaper was issued on May 28, 1960, in Taif City, in Makkah al-Mukarramah Province, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is one of Saudi Arabia's local newspapers. It is issued daily by the Okaz Organization for Press and Publication. It is headquartered in Jeddah City, in Makkah al-Mukarramah Province.

The newspaper's ownership, which was attributed to an individual, was swapped into a public establishment, upon the issue of a Royal Decree in 1964 to terminate the individual ownership of local magazines and newspapers. Its establishing resolution was issued for a board of twenty-eight members. The first issue after its conversion into a public establishment was published on October 17, 1964.
