2017

Diriyah Gate Development Authority was established by a Royal Order to plan and develop Diriyah into an exceptional tourist destination. This province is one of the prominent archeological sites in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, featuring details that embody over three hundred years of the Kingdom's history. The Diriyah Gate project covers seven km, while Diriyah Gate Development Authority oversees an area of 190 km.

2018

The Diriyah Gate project has undergone extensive planning and organization. Afterward, Diriyah Gate Development Authority announced that those plans were ready for implementation on the ground.

2019

The foundation stone for the Diriyah Gate project was laid under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, marking the commencement of its first phase, which comprises eighty-six key sites. The master plan for Diriyah Gate cost amounted to SAR64 billion, with work starting from al-Bujairi District.

2021

After signing several agreements to facilitate the Diriyah Gate project, Diriyah Gate Development Authority continued its efforts by unveiling the planned architectural identity for Wadi Hanifah and its surroundings. The authority welcomed citizens, designers, and business owners to provide them with the necessary design consultations.

2021

- Diriyah Gate Development Authority announced its future vision for the Diriyah Square project, positioning it as the commercial hub and vibrant heart of Diriyah Gate. The square, located at the center of the master plan of Diriyah, features over 450 global brands alongside one hundred Saudi markets.

- Diriyah Gate Development Authority was awarded the "Best Developer of 2021" by Construction Week magazine for its outstanding projects at the level of the Kingdom's projects.

2022

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) established Diriyah Gate Development Company Ltd., which is responsible for the development of Diriyah project.

2023

Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the PIF, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, announced that the Diriyah Gate project will be annexed to the PIF's megaprojects. The fund's portfolio of significant projects includes NEOM, the Red Sea Project, Qiddiya, Roshn, and Diriyah.

2024

Diriyah Gate Development Authority has received two ISO certifications for Governance and Quality Management (ISO 37000 and ISO 9001). This recognition was granted for the authority's General Secretariat application and compliance with international standards for quality management systems and governance guidelines for the Austrian International Accreditation and the Saudi National Accreditation.
