Marafy Project is a mixed-use megaproject launched by ROSHN Group, the national real estate developer and one of the major projects of the Public Investment Fund (PIF). Located north of Jeddah Governorate, the project is designed to accommodate 130,000 residents. It aims to create a global destination by improving the quality of life and providing entertainment, residential, and commercial facilities. The project contributes to transforming Jeddah City into a modern global hub while preserving its cultural heritage and distinctive architectural legacy.

Launch of the Marafy Project

The project was launched on August 29, 2023, as part of projects to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. It aims to make a significant impact on the real estate development sector by investing natural resources and utilizing modern technologies to position Jeddah City as an important global destination for tourism, residence, and history across various sectors.

Artificial canal in the Marafy Project

One of the unique features of the Marafy Project is an eleven-km-long artificial canal, the first of its kind in Saudi cities. This canal serves as a waterfront comparable in size to those in cities like Chicago, Stockholm, Hamburg, and central London. It connects the waterfront to contemporary environmental elements by bringing the marine aspect into the heart of the historic city. The canal is surrounded by entertainment facilities, commercial centers, amenities, homes, and residential communities, creating a vibrant urban landscape centered around the waterway.

Linking Marafy Project with al-Arous Project

Marafy Project is connected to al-Arous Project, which is also being developed by ROSHN as an integrated residential project in Jeddah City. Marafy Project aims to create a contemporary urban center with facades inspired by the architectural style of historic Jeddah, blended with modern construction techniques. The areas within Marafy are connected through a multi-modal transportation system, including public bus lines, water taxis, and a dedicated metro station for the Red Line. There is also a direct link between the canal and King Abdulaziz International Airport.
