A Royal Decree was issued on February 23, 2019, to appoint Princess Reema Bint Bandar Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud as Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States of America with the rank of Minister. This is the first woman to occupy this position in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Prior to this, she worked as an advisor in the office of the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz.

Princess Reema Bint Bandar was interested in sports, and empowering women in the field. In cooperation with the Ministry of Education, she established the sports education program for school girls, and held the position of Undersecretary of Planning and Development at the General Sports Authority (Ministry of Sport now). Princess Reema is the first woman to take charge of a multi-sport federation in the Kingdom as the President of the the Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA).

Princess Reema Bint Bandar was named sixteenth in the Forbes Middle East magazine for the two hundred most powerful Arab women. In 2014, Fast Company recognized Princess Reema as the Most Creative Person of the year. She studied at Mount Vernon College at George Washington University in the United States of America, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1999.
