Abdullah Bin Ahmed al-Maghlouth is the Assistant Minister of Media in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the excellent rank. He served as the official spokesman for the Ministry of Media for about five years and is the founder of the Center for Government Communication within the ministry. He has published and printed a number of journalistic works. He has won several awards, including the Arab Social Media Pioneers Award from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, and the Excellence Award from Sheikh Jaber Bin Mubarak al-Sabah.

Education of Abdullah al-Maghlouth

He obtained a bachelor's degree with first-class honors in Marketing and Media from Weber State University in the United States of America in 2001.

He obtained a master’s degree in Executive Management from the University of Colorado in 2003. He obtained another master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Colorado in 2004. He continued his studies at the British University of Salford to obtain a doctorate in Digital Media in 2014.

Career of Abdullah al-Maghlouth

Abdullah al-Maghlouth worked in a number of entities throughout his career. He held many positions and supervised media strategies for governmental and non-governmental entities. He managed several media committees and files, including the Third Summit of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries 'OPEC' organized in the Kingdom in 2007, the Jeddah Energy Meeting in 2008, the inauguration of King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah City in 2014, and the opening of King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center 'KAPSARC' in 2016.

Al-Maghlouth held several positions, such as part-time faculty member at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University in Dammam, Founding Director of Public Relations at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology 'KAUST', Public Relations Manager at the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco) from 2014 until 2016, Director General of Change and Communication Management at the Ministry of Defense Development Program from 2015 until 2017, General Supervisor of the Communications Department at the Ministry of Media from 2019 until 2022, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Media from 2019 until 2023, and the founder of the Center for Government Communication at the Ministry of Media. On December 12, 2023, a Royal Order was issued appointing him as the Assistant Minister of Media in the Kingdom at the excellent rank.

Writings by Abdullah al-Maghlouth

Abdullah al-Maghlouth wrote a number of newspaper articles and printed materials, including publications in al-Qafila Magazine, and al-Watan and al-Eqtisadiah newspapers. His writings include 'Aramcoyoun' published in 2008 and 'The Black Box' stories of Saudi intellectuals published in 2010. In 2011, he published two books of 'An Antibiotic for Hopelessness... Saudi Success Stories' and 'Be Good!' in critiquing social phenomena. He also published 'Singing of Happiness, Optimism, and Hope' in 2012, 'Internetiyoun Saudiyoun' and '7:46 p.m.' in 2013, 'Tomorrow Shall Be Better' in 2017, 'The Sweetness of Coffee Is in Its Bitterness' in 2019 and 'Elegant Management' in 2022. 'The impact of gatekeeping theory on publishing and editing digital content' is currently being printed.

Memberships of Abdullah al-Maghlouth

Abdullah al-Maghlouth held a number of memberships during his career. He was a member of the Digital Content Council, the Riyadh Province Council, the Family Affairs Council, and the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of King Abdulaziz Foundation. Additionally, he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Media Integrated Company, the leader of the media track of the Executive Committee for Narcotics Control, Member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center, and Member of the Executive Committee on Governance of Energy and Water Products Price Adjustment.

Awards of Abdullah al-Maghlouth

Abdullah al-Maghlouth received the Prince Bandar Bin Sultan Award for Scientific Excellence from the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Washington in 2001, in addition to the Excellence Award from Weber State University in Utah, USA, in 2001. He also received the Arab Social Media Pioneers Award from Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, in 2005, and the Excellence Award from Sheikh Jaber Bin Mubarak al-Sabah at the Arab Forum held in Kuwait in 2015.
