Ali Ahmed Al-Ahiedb, President of the Board of Grievances with the rank of Minister, and President of the Administrative Judiciary Council since February 12, 2026. Throughout his professional career, he has held a number of positions, including Assistant Secretary-General of the Administrative Judiciary Council and Secretary-General of the Administrative Judiciary Council. 

Education

Ali Al-Ahiedb obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sharia from the College of Sharia at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, and at the same university earned both a Master’s and a PhD in regulations (systems) from the High Institute of the Judiciary. He also joined the Comparative Law programme at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, United States of America, in addition to obtaining the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. 

His career

During his professional career, Ali Al-Ahiedb was appointed to the position of Researcher (Grade Six) at the High Institute of the Judiciary at Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in 2004, then as a judge at the Board of Grievances in 2005. He also worked in and chaired a number of administrative and subsidiary administrative circuits at the Administrative Court in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah and the Administrative Court in Riyadh. In 2011, he was seconded to work at the Technical Affairs Office at the Board of Grievances. 

Ali Al-Ahiedb was also tasked with serving as Supervisor of the Studies and Research Department at the Technical Affairs Office at the Board of Grievances in 2014, then as Assistant to the Head of the Technical Affairs Office in 2016, and as Head of the Technical Affairs Office in 2017. He was also assigned to the Administrative Court of Appeal in the Eastern Province in 2020, and in the same year the Administrative Judiciary Council issued a decision selecting him as Assistant Secretary-General of the Council. In 2020, the Administrative Judiciary Council issued a decision selecting him as Secretary-General of the Council. He was then tasked with the duties of the Deputy’s offices for Judicial and Executive Affairs in 2024, and in 2026 he was appointed President of the Board of Grievances with the rank of Minister.

Ali Al-Ahiedb participated in the classification of the collection of rulings and judicial principles issued by the Board of Grievances. He also chaired at the Board the team reviewing the decisions of the Audit Panel in its collective capacity from the establishment of the Panel until 2014, and chaired the team following up on the implementation of the Enforcement Law before the Board of Grievances. He was also tasked with managing the digital transformation file and managing the partnerships and international cooperation file.

Memberships

Ali Al-Ahiedb has held membership of a number of committees and councils, including: member of the Standing Committee for Judicial Arrangements at the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers; member of the Preparatory Committee for drafting judicial legislation; member of the team for developing the judicial facility; member of the Board of Directors of the Support and Liquidation Centre “Enfath”; and member of the Lawyers’ Registration Committee at the Ministry of Justice.
