King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud’s first flight by an airplane was from the city of Afif, north-west of Riyadh, to Al-Hawiyah, near Taif Governorate, on 3 October 3, 1945,and the aircraft was a Douglas (DC-3), presented to him as a gift by US President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
