The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates National Day on the first day of Libra, corresponding to 23 September of each year; as it coincides with the date of the unification of the country and the adoption of its name as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Founding King, Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, in 1932,and the designation of a dated National Day for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was issued by Royal Decree during the reign of King Faisal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in 1965.
