The objectives of the Saudi Space Agency (SSA) center on the implementation, development, and localization of space sciences and technologies. SSA also aims to foster the peaceful uses of space sciences and technologies, introduce global applications and best practices in the fields of satellite technologies and exploratory missions, and elevate the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as a leading regional and international hub in space science and technology.

Additionally, SSA has outlined a series of objectives for Saudi Arabia's national space policy, including: Manufacturing and developing activities related to the civil space sector and its enabling and supporting components; executing space programs and operations in accordance with policies approved by the Supreme Space Council; organizing exhibitions, conferences, and workshops relevant to SSA’s areas of specialization; signing agreements and memoranda of understanding related to its activities, within its scope of authority, with counterpart entities in other countries, and with international and regional organizations; developing human and technical capabilities to grow the civil space sector in Saudi Arabia; advancing, transferring, and localizing space sciences and technologies; supporting the development or implementation of civil space infrastructure and services related to space activities; promoting other activities that support and enhance the sector; supporting entrepreneurs and start-ups operating in the space sector; and raising awareness of space sciences, technologies, and their applications.
