Television Tower
Television Tower in Riyadh, is one of the first towers in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. It is located in the Al-Washm district. It was established in 1982 as part of the television complex in Riyadh under an agreement between the Ministry of Media and the representative of the French government in 1978, and it is considered one of the cultural landmarks of Riyadh.
Specifications of the television tower
The Television Tower was built to increase the broadcast range in the neighbourhoods and suburbs of the capital. It stands at a height of 176m, with a television signal transmission mast at its top. It includes a two-storey circular restaurant, designed in the shape of a glass diamond. The tower was used in the logo of the Ministry of Media for many years.
Development of the television tower
In 2010, a project was launched to develop the Television Tower Square in Riyadh. It was equipped with the latest artistic techniques used in the fields of landscape design and landmark lighting, according to several properties to withstand the high-heat and low-humidity conditions of the city of Riyadh.
