Tabuk Museum
Tabuk Museum is one of the museums in Tabuk Province, located in the northwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Inaugurated in 2004, it lies inside the exhibition hall of the Education Department in Tabuk Province, covering an area of five hundred m². It is supervised by the Museums Commission, one of the commissions under the Ministry of Culture.
Exhibits at Tabuk Museum
The museum includes exhibition wings and display halls. The entrance hall features a Quranic verse highlighting the connection between religion and archaeological studies, a panel on the antiquities of Saudi Arabia, and images of its historical and archaeological landmarks. The Natural History and Geology Wing of Tabuk Province showcases rock samples from the province, mining sites, and exhibits on the environmental, botanical, and animal heritage.
Prehistoric era at Tabuk Museum
The Prehistoric Era wing features a collection of stone tools, pottery pieces, and paintings of rock inscriptions and writings, spanning from the Stone Ages to the end of the pre-Islamic period. It also includes texts and images depicting the eras before Islam.
The Tabuk Through Islamic History Wing features the migration of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him (PBUH), to Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and successive Islamic periods. It also features panels containing texts, images, and diagrams from this era.
Tabuk's heritage at the Museum
The Tabuk Heritage Wing features a collection of wooden crafts, clothing, jewelry, cooking utensils, and farming tools. As for the Tabuk in the Saudi Era Wing, it narrates the history of Tabuk’s incorporation into Saudi rule, the contributions of the province’s people to the unification of Saudi Arabia, and the succession of governors who have led Tabuk Province.
The Education in Tabuk Province Wing covers the story of education in the province, the beginning of formal education, the opening of the first schools, and a collection of old books, pens, and letters.
