Saudi Global Forums

Saudi Global Forums are international events organized by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to showcase new programs and technologies within specific fields. These forums are usually organized by one of the Saudi government entities and held in the capital, Riyadh, or other central cities in Saudi Arabia, lasting for a day or several days, including the Misk Global Forum (MGF), Local Content Forum, and Global Intellectual Property Challenges Forum.

The Saudi global forums host developers and consultants from around the world, in addition to attendees who can participate in and listen to forum seminars. Such forums are major media events during their period of convening.

Misk Global Forum (MGF)

The Misk Global Forum (MGF) is one of the international events held annually by Saudi Arabia in the Capital, Riyadh. The forum represents a global platform, bringing together leaders, innovators, and changemakers to explore ways to address the challenges of change. It promotes the mission of the "Misk" Foundation internationally through its organized participations, events, and seminars.

The inaugural session of MGF was launched on November 15-16, 2016. MGF activities included workshops, dialogue sessions, and panel discussions with objectives aligned with several concepts related to Saudi Vision 2030. The forum received extensive international media coverage and featured participation by global speakers, experts from international organizations, academics, and entrepreneurs. It gathered 1,500 young men and women, half of whom were from Saudi Arabia, to discuss optimal ways to empower youth, expand their role in leading development, and prepare generations of young leaders.

Local Content Forum

The Local Content Forum is organized by the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority (LCGPA‏), representing an opportunity to showcase success stories and attract global practices. The forum lasted two days, from September 5-6, 2022, with the participation of various government entities and major private sector companies to provide a unified platform for showcasing local content initiatives and activities, fostering cooperation between the public and private sectors, and enhancing strategic partnerships.

Global Intellectual Property Challenges Forum

The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property and the Saudi Secretariat of the G20 organized the Global Intellectual Property Challenges Forum on October 26, 2020, as part of the international conferences program on the sidelines of Saudi Arabia’s presidency of the G20.

With attendance of more than thirty-six entities, the forum discussed several topics related to coordinating intellectual property processes, policy exchange, and disseminating intellectual property-related information. The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) participated in the forum, along with virtual participation by several intellectual property offices and international organizations.

Global Project Management Forum (GPMF)

Under the slogan "The Future of Project Management: Between Digitization and Adaptation to Change," the Project Management Institute, sponsored by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), organized the first edition of the Global Project Management Forum (GPMF) from June 26-27, 2022, in the capital, Riyadh.

GPMF focused on several themes, including infrastructure, technology, innovation, future cities, and community development. It aimed to showcase the implementation of smart, sustainable, and innovative practices in project management.

International Metrology Forum

Coinciding with the global celebration of World Metrology Day, the National Measurement and Calibration Center (NMCC) organized the International Metrology Forum on May 25, 2021, under the theme "Measurement for Health," at the Saudi Standards, Metrology, and Quality Organization (SASO). In a dialogue session titled "Measurement for Health," the forum discussed local and international experiences in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of laboratories and national measurement centers during the pandemic, measurement accuracy and its impact in healthcare, and the role of scientific research in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic. The forum also included two workshops on the impact of metrology in healthcare and its role in enabling industrial growth.

Riyadh Global Economic Forum

The Riyadh Economic Forum is one of the prominent global forums in the field of economics. Over eleven editions organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry until 2024, the forum discussed the roles of balanced development in encouraging reverse migration, financial reforms and their impact on economic development, the role of the non-profit sector in economic and social development, future jobs in Saudi Arabia, and environmental issues and their impact on economic and social development.
