Prince Musaid Bin Abdulrahman University
Prince Musaid Bin Abdulrahman University, founded in 2011, is a public university with its main campus in Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is the only Saudi university with seventeen branches other than its main branch, including Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Jeddah, Dammam, Abha, Jazan, Tabuk, Al-Ahsa, Najran, Qassim, Hail, Al-Jawf, Jubail, and Yanbu.
Establishment
Prince Musaid Bin Abdulrahman University was originally founded under the name "Saudi Electronic University," and it retained this name until September 18, 2026. At that time, based on a recommendation submitted by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud, directed that the university be named "Prince Musaed Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud University."
Educational system
Prince Musaid Bin Abdulrahman University is embracing a blended education approach that integrates traditional in-person teaching methods with technology-enhanced distance learning and self-paced education. This approach enables both its staff and students to seamlessly balance work and study commitments by adopting an educational model that does not rely heavily on the physical presence of students on a daily basis.
The university is characterized by flexibility regarding admission and registration. Unlike most other public universities, it allows students of various ages to enroll in its diverse programs, as it does not impose a time limit on the validity period of the high school diploma.
To support its vision in distance learning, the university contracts with international entities and companies, including the Florida Institute of Technology, Ohio University, and Franklin University.
Colleges
Prince Musaid Bin Abdulrahman University grants bachelor's degrees and master's degrees in various specialized fields across four faculties: the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, the College of Computing and Informatics, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Sciences and Theoretical Studies, and the Applied College.
The university launched the "Arabic Online" program, hosted by the global language-learning platform Rosetta Stone, which aims to teach the Arabic language to non-native speakers. It also offers the Standardized Arabic Test—similar to international exams such as IELTS and TOEFL—which is hosted by the global Prometric platform.
