Hassan Karani
Hassan Mustafa Karani, a Saudi media figure and meteorology specialist, presented the weather bulletin on Saudi television for twenty-nine years, from 1978 to 2006. He participated in conferences and seminars related to climate and natural disasters.
Upbringing
Hassan Karani began his studies in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, then moved to Jeddah and enrolled in the technical institute affiliated with Ministry of Defense specializing in English language and meteorology for three years. He graduated as a weather observer, then moved between regions of Saudi Arabia from Rafha to Al-Qaysumah then Yanbu and Jazan. After that, he applied for a scholarship and travelled to America, where he studied weather forecasting for environmental pollution, then studied meteorological forecasting management in Australia. He presented the first weather bulletin from Jeddah Television in 1977.
Death
Hassan Karani died on Friday, January 23, 2026.
