Eid songs in Saudi Arabia, are songs associated with the sunset of the last day of Ramadan and with the tenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah in the Islamic Hijri calendar, announcing the arrival of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha; the songs are broadcast on satellite channels, social media platforms, and radio stations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi artists who sang for Eid

In the early 1980s, some Eid songs performed by a number of Saudi artists became famous and remained in circulation among listeners for many years, including "Min al-‘Ayidin" sung by Mohammed Abdu, lyrics by Ibrahim Khafaji, and "Every year you are well" sung by Talal Maddah, lyrics by Al-Sharif Mansour, and "Joy, joy" sung by Ali Abdulkarim, and later a group of modern Eid songs appeared, including "Eidi Mubarak" by the artist Rabih Saqer, and "Hayyak ya al-Eid" by the artist Rashed Al-Majed, and "Jana al-Eid" by the artist Abdul Majeed Abdullah.

Popular Eid chants

People in various regions of Saudi Arabia repeat some popular chants and poetic verses that bring them joy, such as the Hujayni in the Tabuk desert, and children go around the neighbours’ houses to take their share of Eid gifts, chanting various rhymes, including: "Give us our Eid gift, it comes back to you... may poverty never enter your homes", a folk tradition known as "Huwamat al-Eid".
