His Excellency Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al al-Sheikh has been the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since June 2, 2018. He is the fourth minister to assume the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance in the Kingdom.

His education

He was born in the city of Riyadh and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the College of Sharia at Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University in 1974. He then earned a master’s degree in comparative law from the Higher Judicial Institute in 1984. In 1996, he obtained a doctorate in Sharia from Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University with first-class honors and a recommendation to print the thesis for exchange between universities.

His positions

He served at the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta as Director of the Fatwa Affairs Office, then as Director General in charge of the Inspection Department. Following this, he served as the Second Assistant to the Secretary of the Council of Senior Scholars. Subsequently, he was chosen as an expert on Islamic affairs and an advisor in the General Secretariat for Dawah. Later, he was appointed as a Special Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz. During his tenure as the Governor of Riyadh Province from 2012 to 2015, he also held the position of the head of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in the Kingdom (CPVPV).
