His Excellency Musaed Bin Mohammed al-Aiban has been the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1995, a member of the Council of Ministers, the Council of Political and Security Affairs (CPSA), and the Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA), the national security adviser, and the first chairman of the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA) since its establishment in October 2017.
His education
He graduated with a bachelor’s in Law from Harvard University in the United States and pursued postgraduate studies there until earning his master's in Law, and his Ph.D. in International Law. His father is Mohammed Bin Abdullah al-Aiban, the first head of the Saudi Arabian Intelligence Service.
His career
He served as a professor of international law at King Saud University in Riyadh, before taking over the chairmanship of the Law Department at the university. He was then appointed as an adviser at the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources (currently Ministry of Energy) and an adviser at the Royal Court.
His positions
He served as Minister of State for over a quarter of a century, spanning the reigns of three kings. He was part of the first formation of the Council of Ministers during the reign of King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on August 2, 1995. He continued during the reign of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He has been a member of CPSA and CEDA since their establishment on January 29, 2015. He also served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission from 2016 until 2018. He has been the chairman of the National Cybersecurity Authority since October 2017, and a national security adviser since December 27, 2018.
