His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born in 1970) serves as the special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and is the chairman of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah). He is also the chairman of the board of trustees of the King Fahd National Library. He served as the Governor of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province from 2013 until 2023.

Life of Prince Faisal Bin Salman

Born in Riyadh, he is the fifth son of King Salman Bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. He received his basic education in Riyadh schools and completed his university education with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from King Saud University. Afterwards, he attended the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, where he earned a Ph.D. in International Relations.

The professional career of Prince Faisal Bin Salman

He worked as a professor in the Department of Political Science at King Saud University and was a member of the advisory council for the College of Law and Political Science. He also held the position of chairman of the board of the Saudi Research and Media Group, as well as chairman of the board of the Prince Ahmed Bin Salman Applied Media Institute.

He was appointed as the Governor of al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province from 2013 to 2023, and he chaired the board of trustees of the King Abdulaziz Complex for Endowment Libraries during his tenure.

On December 12, 2023, a Royal Decree was issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, appointing Prince Faisal Bin Salman as a special advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques with the rank of minister. Additionally, a Royal Decree, based on the proposal of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, appointed him as the chairman of the board of directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah). Furthermore, an order from the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, appointed him as the chairman of the board of trustees of the King Fahd National Library.
