His Royal Highness Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (born in 1950) has been the Governor of Tabuk Province since August 16, 1987, succeeding Prince Mamdouh Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, as the thirteenth governor of Tabuk Province.

Life of Prince Fahd Bin Sultan

He was born in the capital, Riyadh. He is the second son of Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He received a bachelor of arts in history from King Saud University in 1970, and a diploma from the University of Southern California in the United States of America.

The early career of Prince Fahd Bin Sultan

Prince Fahd Bin Sultan began his career as an Undersecretary at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (currently the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development) and chaired a number of United Nations committees in the field of social work. Prince Fahd contributed to the establishment of about thirty specialized societies in all cities and governorates of Tabuk Province. He headed the Kingdom’s delegation to offer condolence to the State of Kuwait upon the death of Kuwait's Emir, Sheikh Jaber al-Sabah. On behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, he headed the Kingdom’s delegation to inaugurate King Salman International University in Sharm al-Sheikh in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Positions of Prince Fahd Bin Sultan

Prince Fahd Bin Sultan has had a longstanding interest in sport, serving as Acting President of Youth Welfare (currently Ministry of Sport), Vice-President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee (currently Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee), Vice-President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, and President of the Arab and Saudi Arabian Amateur Athletic Federations, Vice-President of the Saudi Arabian Association for Youth Hostels, and Chairman of the Committee of Football Teams in the period 1974-1982. In addition, he headed the Kingdom’s delegation participating in the Los Angeles Olympics in the United States of America in 1984, the Kingdom’s delegation to the Asian Games in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, and the Kingdom’s delegation to the Asian Games in India. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fahd Bin Sultan University and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Prince Fahd Bin Sultan Social Program Society.

Prince Fahd Bin Sultan's honorary positions

Prince Fahd Bin Sultan holds honorary presidencies for several associations and institutions, including being the Honorary President of the Saudi Pharmaceutical Society, the Honorary President of Tabuk Agricultural Development Company, the Honorary President of Tabuk Cement Company, and the Honorary President of the Saudi Society for Agricultural Sciences and the Voluntary Work Association in the Tabuk Province.

Prince Fahd Bin Sultan was awarded the Order of King Faisal of the first class, the Jordanian Supreme Order of the Renaissance by King Abdullah II Bin al-Hussein, the 'Hilal-e-Pakistan' award by the President of Pakistan, and the World Academy of Sport Medal.
