Does the Kingdom Develop and Manufacture Drones?

Yes, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia manufactures drones through the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI). The authority has signed a contract with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) for the development of the "Sky Guardian" unmanned aerial vehicle, aiming to establish a leading regional and international technical innovation hub through the development, manufacturing, and localization of drone systems.

SAMI also signed an agreement with Prince Sultan Defense Studies and Research Center to work on the development of the drone, which is an outcome of the center's myriad research and development projects aimed at achieving a national product.
