Maraya Theater is one of the largest theaters in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and it is the world's largest mirrored building. The theater in the al-Ula Governorate, located in al-Madinah al-Munawarah Region, is unique in that it is constructed entirely of reflective mirrors. This allows it to reflect the surrounding geography, terrain, and nature. It is the first theater of its kind.

Events held at Maraya Theater

The theater is part of Maraya Hall, which hosted the Gulf Summit known as the Sultan Qaboos and Sheikh Sabah Summit. It is one of the most significant political Gulf summits historically, as it served as a platform for reunification, integration, and unity among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in 2021.

During the Winter at Tantora Festival, Maraya Theater witnessed several events, hosting theatrical performances, musical concerts by international stars, and various art exhibitions and global conferences.

Maraya Theater's listing in the Guinness World Records

Maraya stands as an iconic structure, blending seamlessly into the mesmerizing landscape of al-Ula while holding the Guinness World Record as the world's largest reflective building.

The theater received the prestigious global architectural Architizer A Award in 2020. It is one of the vibrant cultural and artistic scenes in the al-Ula Governorate, extending to the adjacent landscapes, reflecting the sunset, the legendary rocks of al-Ula, and the diverse surrounding slopes. The venue is enhanced by these elements, which offer a visual appeal through the reflections of sunlight during the day and the twinkling stars at night.

Design of Maraya Theater

The theater is undergoing structural improvements, along with enhancing its sound systems. Additionally, a restaurant with a seating capacity of five hundred people will be established, and dedicated spaces for art exhibitions will be created while preserving the mirrored walls as an integral part of its exterior design. This extension will harmonize with the natural landscape of mountains and golden sands, elevating its global status and further solidifying its reputation, making it a prime destination for local and international artists. The stunning aesthetic backdrop it provides sets it apart from other theaters worldwide.
