Tech Champions Program 2022 is the third edition of the program that aims to support the projects of Saudi entrepreneurs. It was launched by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in collaboration with several government entities on December 1, 2022.
Objectives of Tech Champions Program
The Tech Champions Program seeks to foster the role of technology entrepreneurs in supporting and developing their emerging projects. It contributes to the growth of their projects by supplying them with several quality tools and solutions in addition to supportive digital incentives at free or reduced rates. The program also supports entrepreneurs in terms of all technical, administrative, and financial aspects.
The program aspires to motivate and adopt digital innovation by supporting entrepreneurs and local digital companies. It seeks to foster the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the most notable leading digital hubs, ultimately supporting the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030.
Sectors of Tech Champions Program 2022
The third edition of the Tech Champions Program covered the digital leadership program in the sectors of green technology, the metaverse, and tourism, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture (MEWA), the Ministry of Tourism, and the "Ignite" Digital Content Program, to support the emerging projects along the program's paths. The third edition of the program resulted in closing fifteen investment deals in favor of the best startups.
Through its various events and activities, the Tech Champions Program seeks to support forty-two tech startups whose work relates to the target paths for adopting digital technologies. This edition of the program aims to digitize and address challenges within the fields of green technology, tourism, and the metaverse, upon enabling participating companies to benefit from the guidance services and the expertise of subject-matter experts, expand investment horizons, and leverage business accelerators.
Application to Tech Champions Program 2022
The Tech Champions Program made applying to take part in the program possible upon submitting existing projects on the initiative's website: https://code.mcit.gov.sa/en/accelerator-incubator/tech-champions-3rd.
The website published the necessary sources and data for applicants. It also ensured their seamless communication with the program's management, upon noting that the projects' registration, application, and assessment were based on a fully electronic process.
Within the framework of its second edition, the Tech Champions Program succeeded at translating thirty-two concepts into innovative business models. It has also introduced twelve technology projects to the competition market. Finally, four projects qualified for the business incubator path while four others qualified for the business incubator path.
