Najm Spring is one of the historical springs in al-Ahsa Oasis in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is located west of al-Mubarraz City and is distinguished by its hot mineral waters, which are frequented for treatment. Its structures were built in 1703 in the form of semi-oval domes, and it was one of the stations for Hajj caravans.
History of Najm Spring
Najm Spring witnessed the allegiance of the people of al-Ahsa to Imam Saud Bin Abdulaziz Bin Mohammed Bin Saud in 1799. In 1830, Imam Turki Bin Abdullah arrived there to receive the allegiance of the people of al-Ahsa. When Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud regained al-Ahsa, he reconstructed the spring and made improvements to it. The spring also served as a gathering and farewell point for Asian pilgrims traveling to and from the holy sites. This gathering was evolving into a commercial and economic hub by establishing some small markets.
Treatment with Najm Spring’s water
Najm Spring is one of the most prominent sulfur springs in al-Ahsa Governorate. It is recognized as the first tourist site in Saudi Arabia dedicated to treatment. In 1948, Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud visited the spring for treatment.
