
Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih is a Saudi engineer who has held the position of Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services since July 3, 2022. He also serves as the President of the Transport General Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Academic qualifications of Rumaih Al-Rumaih
Rumaih Al-Rumaih completed his undergraduate studies at the College of Engineering at King Saud University in the Capital, Riyadh, earning a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He pursued higher education and obtained two master’s degrees, one in business administration from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom and another in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado in the United States of America. He also earned a PhD in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado.
Professional career of Rumaih Al-Rumaih
Rumaih Al-Rumaih began his professional career at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in the field of scientific research. He later worked as a part-time consultant at the Ministry of Defense before joining Alkhaleej Training and Education in 2002, where he served as Vice President. In 2008, he was appointed Deputy CEO of operations at the Saudi Railway Company (SAR). Two years later, he became CEO.
In 2015, he was appointed President of the Saudi Railways Organization. The following year, he became the Acting President of the organization, and was also appointed President of the Transport General Authority. In 2022, a Royal Decree appointed him Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services with an excellent rank in addition to continuing as President of the Transport General Authority.
Memberships of Rumaih Al-Rumaih
Rumaih Al-Rumaih holds memberships in several boards of directors, including the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, the King Fahd Causeway Authority, the Saudi Red Sea Authority, Future Work Co., the Industrial Council, and Makkah Mass Rail Transit Company.
He previously chaired several boards and committees, including the board of directors of the Saudi Railway Polytechnic (SRP) and the board of directors of the Saudi Logistics Academy. He was also a member of several boards, including the board of directors of the General Investment Authority (now the Ministry of Investment), the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and the board of directors of the Saudi Company for Exchanging Digital Information (Tabadul).
