The Research Unit at Qassim University's College of Medicine is a unit dedicated to creating a stimulating environment for research advancement and establishing the necessary mechanisms to develop scientific research in basic and clinical medical sciences, and community medicine to support the continuous improvement of healthcare services provided to society and to promote a research culture among faculty members and students at the college. The unit also enables them to fully understand the requirements for designing and conducting medical research through specialized workshops and seminars, in addition to organizing scientific research days for faculty members and students.

Objectives of the Research Unit at Qassim University's College of Medicine

The Research Unit at Qassim University's College of Medicine aims to achieve several objectives, most notably training and qualifying a new generation of skilled researchers through training courses and workshops and conducting innovative and high-quality medical science research aimed at improving human health.

The research unit seeks to enhance human health through distinguished medical research and encourage, develop, and disseminate advanced scientific research programs. It also strives to understand local and international health issues through high-quality basic and clinical medical research supported by advanced biotechnology.

Achievements of the Research Unit at Qassim University's College of Medicine

The research unit achieved several accomplishments during the 2017-2018 academic year, notably organizing the twelfth College Research Day, with the participation of 412 students and faculty members. During the event, nine student research papers were presented, and forty-two research posters were displayed. Additionally, the number of published research papers by faculty members during the same academic year reached approximately one hundred, all of which were published in peer-reviewed journals. One of the research unit members won first place in the university’s medical sciences research excellence ward, receiving a prize of SAR50,000.
