Harrat al-Qummah is one of the dormant volcanic fields in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the oldest volcanic Harrat (lava fields) in the Arabian Peninsula, and one of three small Harrat located along the coastal plain of Jazan Province, including Abu 'Arish, Ikwa, and al-Qummah. Furthermore, it is regarded as one of the notable geo-tourism landmarks in the Kingdom.

Location of Harrat al-Qummah

Harrat al-Qummah is located far southwest of the Kingdom, specifically in the coastal Tihama Plain in Jazan Province. It houses al-Qummah al-Shamiyyah Mountain with an elevation of 309 m, the highest volcanic cone in the lava field. Its total area is approximately forty km².
