When Was the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) Established?

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center was established in 2015 and is headquartered in Riyadh City, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It provides humanitarian, charitable, and relief assistance to affected groups abroad. To achieve its objectives, it develops mechanisms that enhance rapid response to humanitarian crises and seeks to increase the impact of the aid provided by the Kingdom, aiming for its sustainability through improved supervision, evaluation, and monitoring processes.
The center establishes partnerships with sixteen international and United Nations humanitarian organizations, which share its mission either fully or partially. These include the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the World Food Programme (WFP), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the United Kingdom’s Department for International Development (DFID), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center adheres to its Code of Conduct and Ethics, the first edition of which was issued in 2017. This code remains in effect for all its representatives and staff, both within the Kingdom and abroad. The values upheld by the center include prioritizing humanitarian necessity, providing aid to affected groups without discrimination or bias, alleviating suffering wherever and whenever it exists, respecting religions, cultures, and traditions, and refraining from using aid to support any particular stance.
The Code of Conduct and Ethics outlines prohibited actions and the procedures to be taken in the event of violations, such as theft, embezzlement, and the disclosure of confidential information and documents. It also includes the Charter of Honor for Humanitarian and Relief Work at the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
