The Saudi Rowing Federation is an official Saudi federation dedicated to organizing the sport of rowing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, sponsoring international and local championships, and increasing the number of rowing practitioners. It separated from the Saudi Water Sports Federation in 2017.
Objectives of the Saudi Rowing Federation
The Saudi Rowing Federation focuses on several objectives, including increasing awareness of rowing and introducing the federation, building communities that share an interest in rowing, increasing the number of practitioners, participating in community activities, involving Paralympic rowers and increasing their numbers, recruiting athletes to represent Saudi Arabia in local and international championships, competing in international tournaments and winning awards, and organizing and hosting international championships in Saudi Arabia.
Rowing tour
The Saudi Rowing Federation holds tours to introduce the sport of rowing, as well as an annual indoor rowing race using the “Concept” device. In the two thousand m race, ten male and ten female participants from all categories qualify for the Saudi Games, while the top ten male or female participants from each category qualify for Saudi Arabia’s Indoor Rowing Championship.
Saudi Arabia’s Rowing Coastal Championships 2023
The Saudi Rowing Federation organized the first coastal rowing championship in Saudi Arabia in al-Jubail, Eastern Province, in November 2023. The championship featured six categories for both genders, divided into three women’s events, Under-Twenty Women Singles, Under-Twenty-Four Women Singles, and Open Women Singles, and three men’s events: Under-Twenty Men Singles, Under-Twenty-Four Men Singles, and Open Men Singles.
