The Saudi Parkinson Society was founded in 2014 under the Law of Civil Society Associations and Organizations. It was registered with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development under permit number (706).
Objectives of the society
The Saudi Parkinson Society aims to achieve several goals, including establishing specialized centers for providing medical, psychological, and social care to Parkinson's patients, increasing awareness among patients, their families, specialists, and the public about the nature of the disease and how to manage it, and supporting necessary research and studies related to Parkinson's disease.
Initiatives of the society
The Saudi Parkinson Society has launched several initiatives, including the Charitable Clinic Initiative, which provides free medical services to the society's beneficiaries from various medical specialties, an initiative to distribute wheelchairs, and a series of awareness campaigns about the disease and its symptoms. It has also organized educational forums in collaboration with King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, coordinating with various medical departments, such as speech therapy, clinical nutrition, clinical pharmacy, nursing, and a medical consultation division with the neurology department.
