Life of Modhi al-Dahlawi
Modhi al-Dahlawi's father ruled the Emirate of al-Rass from 1766-1815, succeeding her ancestors who had ruled al-Rass in the 12th century and the early 13th century AH. Her father was one of the supporters and defenders of the First Saudi State. She married one of the leaders of the Anza tribe, Jidaa' Bin Mandil Bin Hithal al-Anzi, but later divorced him. She then married the Sheikh of the Dahmasha tribe, Majlad Bin Fozan, and had a son named Khalid
Poetry of Modhi al-Dahlawi
Modhi al-Dahlawi wrote many patriotic poems and was known for her courage and intelligence. She was one of the people from al-Rass who stood to defend the state and resisted the siege of Ibrahim Pasha in 1817. Through her poems, she encouraged the defenders to stand firm against the invading army. At that time, the people of al-Rass were able to impose their conditions on Ibrahim Pasha, and he entered into a peace agreement without fighting.
