The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia produces various varieties of dates, accounting for 17 percent of the global date production, which is approximately 9.7 million t. The number of palm trees in the Kingdom reached thirty-four million, producing around three hundred varieties of dates. These include Sukkari, Khalas, Ajwa, Sagai, and Sufri, with a total production of 1.6 million t annually as of 2023. Among the date varities in the Kingdom are:

- Sagai: A variety widely cultivated in Riyadh Province and commonly grown in other provinces of the Kingdom.

- Barni: Commonly grown in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province.

- Sukkari: Predominantly cultivated in Qassim Province, with cultivation extending to other provinces of the Kingdom.

- Ajwa: Known for being cultivated in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province.

- Barhi: One of the date varieties widely cultivated in most provinces of the Kingdom.

- Anbara: A variety of date found in al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Province.

- Khalas: Grown in many provinces of the Kingdom and considered a commercial variety in the Eastern Province.

- Khudri: Cultivated in several provinces of the Kingdom.

- Helwa: Predominantly cultivated in al-Jawf and Hail provinces.

- Sufri: Widely cultivated across most provinces of the Kingdom, especially in Bishah Governorate in Aseer Province.
