Jazan Winter Festival 2023

The Jazan Winter Festival 2023 is an entertainment, cultural, traditional, artistic, and sports festival that was launched in Jazan City in Jazan Province, located in the southwestern part of the Kingdom. It began on January 12, 2023, under the slogan "More Beautiful and Warmer," and lasted for two months with the participation of both government and private entities.

The Jazan Winter Festival 2023 featured a variety of entertainment, cultural, and traditional events, including a book fair, an art exhibition, events for individuals with disabilities, governorate nights, a historical forum, the Manar Media Forum, and festival nights in the Jazan Heritage Village with heritage evenings where Jazan Province governorates showcased their traditions. Additional programs included cultural, traditional, and artistic events at the Dosariyah Fortress and the Cultural Street, as well as sports competitions such as beach soccer, women's football, the Governorates Football League, the Chess League, the Domino Championship, and hiking activities. Events also extended to events in the downtown area.

The festival's opening ceremony featured the winter song "Lilfarah Narsum Duroob" ("We Draw Paths for Joy") and a musical play titled "More Beautiful and Warmer." The celebration was further illuminated by fireworks lighting up the sky. A media forum was also held, organized by the Manar Association for Media. It included specialized workshops aimed at developing media practices in the region, as well as knowledge-sharing sessions with media professionals.

A book fair was also held, featuring the participation of forty-four local and Arab publishing houses. The fair included sixty-six booths showcasing literary, intellectual, and scientific publications. The "Fanan" Exhibition was also inaugurated, showcasing the works of talented men and women in the fields of painting, photography, Arabic calligraphy, and sculpture.

The Jazan Winter Festival 2023 showcased the talents of young men and women through their participation in artistic performances, traditional arts, the Handicrafts and Industries Exhibition, the Fine Arts Exhibition, the Coffee Exhibition, Arabic calligraphy, and sports competitions.

Ten traditional groups showcased the history of authentic folk art through a cultural parade organized by the festival committee. The parade spanned one kilometer and featured 130 folklore artists, accompanied by traditional songs, welcoming visitors, and performing arts such as ad-Dil’a and al-Ardah. The parade aimed to showcase the region’s heritage and promote its arts.

The Jazan Winter Festival 2023 included a variety of events and events, featuring designated areas for shopping, productive families, handicrafts, cultural and sports events, theatrical performances, and family- and child-oriented programs. These events took place at various locations, including the Heritage Village, the northern and southern corniches, the sandy beach of Jazan City, and other sites within Jazan City, governorates, and centers of the province.

The Jazan Province Municipality offered fifty investment opportunities for prominent tourist destinations and sites in the province's governorates to support the Jazan Winter Festival 2023.

The Jazan Heritage Village, located on the southern corniche of Jazan City, welcomed visitors to the Jazan Winter Festival 2023 with artistic, cultural, and entertainment activities, including traditional shows, popular games, and folkloric dances. The village showcased authentic and realistic models of the Jazan environment, reflecting the way its people live. It attracted visitors eager to enjoy the province's heritage and experience its traditions. The village featured the Mountain House, the Coastal Tihama House, and the Farasan House, along with a traditional market where artisanal and handcrafted products, for which Jazan Province is renowned, were displayed.
