Jazan Province Amana

Jazan Province Municipality is responsible for urban development in the Jazan Province in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and coordination with government agencies to prepare structural plans for the region's cities, governorates, and centers. Its responsibilities include providing municipal services to citizens and residents. It is one of seventeen municipalities distributed in the thirteen provinces of the Kingdom.

The establishment of the Jazan Province Municipality dates back to 1932, the same year the founder King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman al-Saud declared the unification of the Kingdom. It was initially called the Market Supervision and Taxation Office and is one of the oldest regional municipalities in the Kingdom. The first person to hold the position of Mayor of Jazan was Issa Fath al-Din Aqeeli. Since then, the municipality has undergone several developments, with about sixteen successive mayors and secretaries until 2022. In 2005, the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing issued several decisions, including renaming the regional amanas. Thus, the name of the Jazan Region Municipality was changed to the Amana of the Jazan Province.

Jazan Province Amana is organizationally affiliated with the Ministry of Municipal Rural Affairs and Housing. Its headquarters is located in the city of Jazan, and it oversees thirty-eight municipalities, including Sabya Municipality, Abu Arish Municipality, Samtah Municipality, Fifa Municipality, al-Tawal Municipality, Baish Municipality, Farasan Municipality, and Damad Municipality. The head of the Municipality is referred to as the 'Mayor'.

The Jazan Province Amana undertakes several responsibilities within its purview, including paving roads and streets, executing and maintaining parks and recreational areas, treating swamps and water collection points, implementing flood drainage projects in roads and streets and their maintenance, executing public slaughterhouse projects, developing public markets and specialized markets and their maintenance, executing aesthetic sculpture projects and their maintenance, distributing waste containers, overseeing the issuance of various professional licenses, monitoring bakeries, factories, and shops to verify the suitability of their products, ensuring the cleanliness of streets, squares, parks, slaughterhouses, and public places, among other tasks.
