About Saudipedia

Saudipedia, which can be also referred to as the Saudi Encyclopedia, is a multilingual digital platform that offers comprehensive and authoritative local information pertaining to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, accessible to all. Established by the Ministry of Media, Saudipedia serves as a national reference and a source of documentation. The platform retains the rights and ownership of its written, visual, and audio content, which are regularly updated and enhanced.

As an Internet encyclopedia project, Saudipedia embodies the extension of global encyclopedic traditions into the digital era. The nomenclature ""Saudipedia"" combines ""Saudi,"" representing the focus on Saudi Arabia, and ""Pedia,"" derived from ""Encyclopedia.""

Saudipedia features an extensive array of articles and multimedia content, dedicated to documenting the myriad aspects of Saudi Arabian affairs in written, visual, and auditory formats. The content is sourced from authoritative governmental references, including the King Abdulaziz Foundation, the Saudi Press Agency, academic books, peer-reviewed research and studies, official government websites, as well as published newsletters and reports.

Saudipedia delivers neutral and encyclopedic content that accurately and comprehensively represents Saudi Arabia. It encompasses all cultural, social, economic, political, geographical, and historical dimensions within the Kingdom. Saudipedia positions itself as an authoritative source that can be relied upon by regional, Arab, and international media platforms.

The topics covered by Saudipedia are carefully selected based on priority, search algorithms, and the availability of sources. This selection process is governed by a rigorous work cycle under the supervision of a scientific committee. The majority of topics pertain to government agencies with independent websites, or are associated with Saudi Vision 2030 and its supported sectors. Additionally, they encompass national affairs and figures who hold or have held significant positions, made notable national or international contributions, received prestigious awards, or are pioneers in their respective fields.

Saudipedia primarily publishes its content in Arabic. The English version of this website, along with any other language versions, strictly adheres to the policies and reliability standards of the Arabic version, with the content being regularly updated. The encyclopedia also aims to expand into additional languages, including Russian, German, Chinese, and French.

In addition to its extensive collection of articles, Saudipedia features a comprehensive media library designed to enhance the content and engage readers. This library includes a diverse array of supporting elements such as photographs, graphics, maps, video clips, recorded music and audio clips, and infographic designs.
