Saudi Post (SPL) is a governmental institution responsible for managing postal services within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was established by order of the Founding King Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman Al Saud in 1926, making it one of the oldest institutions in the Kingdom. It offers diverse postal logistics services to establish the unified National Address system through partnerships with institutions from both the public and private sectors, the development of e-government transactions, and the facilitation of e-commerce exchanges.

SPL's strategy

In 2019, SPL launched a strategy to build a national group that pioneers logistical postal services that integrate with Saudi Vision 2030 programs to bring the Kingdom into a global logistics hub. The strategy integrates with the pillars of Vision 2030 through:

- A vibrant society that contributes to providing logistics services for shipping and parcel delivery to government and private sectors and individuals.

- A thriving economy by developing and providing logistics services and transforming the Kingdom into an international logistics hub.

- An ambitious nation that promotes digital transformation and e-commerce projects.

To implement this strategy, SPL has formulated a development plan encompassing three primary pillars: prioritizing business modernization through process and product enhancement, embracing digital solutions and specialized logistics, empowering human capital, and fostering partnerships with stakeholders in target markets.

SPL services

SPL services encompass a suite of products centered around various pillars. These pillars include enhancing productivity and operational skills, broadening the market reach of essential services, and expediting the acquisition of fresh talent resources. Notable services within this suite include the National Address, Medical Mail Services, E-P.O Box, Awfar, Alami, Express, Urgent Service, and Post Business. Additionally, SPL actively collaborates with both the public and private sectors to empower e-government initiatives and enable e-commerce applications, which contributes to the development of e-government transactions and facilitates e-commerce exchanges in its final product through delivery and pickup to customers.

SPL works on diversifying its products and services by introducing new services and consistently enhancing and modernizing its front-office facilities with state-of-the-art devices and equipment. SPL also aims to offer comprehensive postal services and products, extending its coverage to cities, governorates, and villages throughout the Kingdom. It also focuses on regulating postal operations and conducting regular, ongoing studies to identify and address any challenges that may impede the provision of postal services.

SPL's improved identity

In 2021, Saudi Post launched its new identity, SPL, aimed at emphasizing its vision to be a leading national operator in delivering top-tier postal and logistics services. This new identity was accompanied by a new vision and mission, underpinned by core values that elevate the organizational culture, fostering greater inspiration for creativity and innovation. All of this is integral to SPL's strategic plan known as Maqdam 2020-2025, which is to shift to a new perspective on market leadership and the creation of a cohesive and profit-driven integrated work system that offers substantial competitive value.

Awards received by SPL

SPL has received numerous awards from local, regional, and international entities. In 2020, it received the Customer Care Award from Express Mail Service (EMS) Cooperative, a division of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), in recognition of its implementation of the international information system. This system serves as one of the communication channels among the member countries of EMS Cooperative for tracking parcels and international mail.

SPL also won the 2018 International Customer Care Award, the Best Project for Social Responsibility Award in 2015, as well as the Middle East Excellence Award, and the Achievement Award for E-Government transactions in 2014 from the Middle East Excellence Award Institute.
