Yes, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) inaugurated the Unified Center for Video Assistant Referee (VAR) Technology in February 2022, during the twentieth round of the Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Professional Cup League and the Yelo Pro League. Thus, SAFF became the seventh in the world to establish a unified VAR center, following the English, Spanish, German, Dutch, French, and Swiss federations. The use of VAR technology was officially approved in the Yelo Pro League starting from the second round of the 2021-2022 season, on January 3, 2022.
In 2022, the number of internationally accredited Saudi VARs reached fifty-one, including twenty-three field referees and twenty-eight assistant VARs.
The International Football Association (FIFA) also approved SAFF among the expert federations in VAR technology following its successful implementation of the system locally for three consecutive seasons.
