What is the Area of Shura Island in the Red Sea Project?

Shura Island covers an area of approximately 5.6 km² and was formerly known as "Shurayrah Island." It is the main island of the Red Sea Project, located on the western coast of the Kingdom. Its natural formation resembles the shape of a dolphin. Shura is one of ninety-two islands in the archipelago, which is home to the world's fourth-largest coral reef and a rich variety of wildlife and plants.

The Shura Island project includes eleven resorts and hotels managed by prominent global hospitality brands. The resorts were constructed using lightweight materials with low thermal mass. Shura Island is connected to the mainland by a causeway approximately 3.3 km long, which includes a 1.2 km bridge.
