On July 12, 2024, the International Olympic Committee announced a twelve-year partnership with the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee. During this period, the Kingdom will host the first edition of the Olympic Esports Games in 2025, making it a global hub for gaming and esports. This contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in diversifying the economy, providing job opportunities across various sectors, and offering high-quality entertainment to citizens, residents, and visitors alike.

The partnership between the International Olympic Committee and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee stipulates that the Olympic Esports Games, which the Kingdom will organize in 2025, will be an exceptional and distinguished edition, with additional editions to be organized in subsequent years. This continues the series of diverse global championships that the Kingdom has successfully hosted in the years before the announcement of the partnership, reaffirming its pioneering position as a global hub for esports.
