The Saudi Mining Society is a scientific association in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was established by the Department of Mining Engineering at the College of Engineering, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah on January 25, 2006, and the Department of Mining Engineering serves as its headquarters.

Objectives of the Saudi Mining Society

The objectives of the Saudi Mining Society include promoting and developing scientific knowledge in the field of mining, improving performance, achieving professional and scientific communication with the society's members, providing consultation in the field, accelerating the exchange of scientific production and ideas, and fostering collaboration in the areas of interest of the society among entities within the Kingdom and abroad.

Activities of Saudi Mining Society

The Saudi Mining Society engages in various activities, including the establishment of specialized committees in the fields of mining engineering and geological sciences, such as economic feasibility studies and mineral deposit evaluation, organizing scientific sessions and intellectual discussions, promoting scientific research in specialized areas, and conducting studies to enhance the practical aspects of mining practices.

The activities of the Saudi Mining Society also include the exchange of expertise in the mining field, organizing scientific field trips for society members, hosting competitions in their respective specialties, and encouraging practical innovation in the mining field.

Responsibilities of the General Assembly

The Saudi Mining Society is responsible for establishing guidelines regulating the society's internal work progress, approving the action plan, proposing the creation of branches for the society, appointing an external auditor for the society's accounts and determining their fees, and proposing the relocation of the society's headquarters from one university to another or its dissolution.
