On December 17, 2021, the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Public Investment Fund, and Chairman of the Jeddah Central Development Company, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, launched the Jeddah Central Project. It is a project that aims to feature key landmarks such as the opera house, a museum, a sports stadium, coral farms, and oceanic aquariums, in addition to around ten tourism and entertainment projects, as well as other areas and landmarks. The project also includes approximately seventeen thousand residential units, resorts, and tourist hotels containing about three thousand rooms. Jeddah Central Development Company began construction on August 28, 2022. The project will be completed in three milestones.
