The Youth Cultural Award is an annual national cultural award in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is granted to Saudi citizens aged between twenty-one and forty years who have made a distinctive cultural contribution in any of the cultural sectors. It was launched as part of the National Cultural Awards initiative announced by the Ministry of Culture in 2019. The first edition of the award was launched in June 2020.

Youth Cultural Award's objectives

The Youth Cultural Award aims to honor and support emerging national talents in all cultural sectors for citizens who have made a distinctive cultural contribution in any of the cultural sectors in the two years preceding the nomination.

Youth Cultural Award's nomination mechanism

Nominations for the Youth Cultural Award are entrusted to expert committees specialized in the cultural domain, aiming to honor their significant contributions to the cultural sector.

Youth Cultural Award's winners

In its first edition, the cinematic director Shahad Saeed Amin won the award in recognition of her achievements in the film industry. Starting as an assistant director, she has risen to become one of the most prominent filmmakers in the Kingdom. She was announced the winner of the first edition of the National Cultural Awards initiative in 2021.

The writer and film director Badr al-Hamoud won the award in its second edition in appreciation of his efforts in filmmaking, publishing, and translation initiatives, and technical projects. He founded the Manavers Center for Innovation and Development, which is regarded as the first of its kind in the world to allow the exchange and interactive publication of cultural products. He also established the online platform Mana, dedicated to publishing content about knowledge, art, and philosophy. In addition, he managed a project to translate thirty books in the fields of philosophy and humanities.
