The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAC) is the official national body that provides accreditation services to conformity assessment bodies in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Conformity assessment is the verification of the conformity of products, services, or processes to the technical regulations and the pre-determined specifications. SAC is linked to the Minister of Commerce and has its own legal personality, and administrative and financial independence, focusing on the following tasks:
Accrediting conformity assessment bodies within or outside the Kingdom.
Providing training services and qualifying assessors in the field of conformity assessment.
Coordinating with government agencies in the Kingdom to provide data related to conformity assessment bodies and their accreditation.
Proposing laws related to the SAC’s activities.
Participating in relevant international and regional organizations and bodies and signing memoranda of understanding and agreements.
Mutual recognition of accreditation certificates for conformity assessment bodies.
Representing the Kingdom in relevant international and regional organizations.
Preparing and publishing studies, research, and statistics related to SAC’s activities.
Organizing seminars and conferences related to SAC’s activities.
Establishing and publishing a database for SAC’s activities.
