The Saudi Film Confex, launched by the Film Commission under the Ministry of Culture in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, took place at Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center (BLVD Expo) from October 1-4, 2023. The Saudi Film Confex aimed to engage filmmakers, directors, producers, investors, and various global media outlets, exploring the current state and future of the film industry in the Kingdom.

The Saudi Film Confex serves as a platform connecting regional and international film industry stakeholders, facilitating communication, keeping up with technical innovations and new technologies in filmmaking. Saudi Film Confex brings together essential elements and related entities in the film industry, in an effort to enhance the status of the film industry, promote it, and highlight its significance and direct impact on the national economy. This is done through three main themes: industry trends, global practices, and challenges and opportunities in the film industry.
Participants in the Saudi Film Confex
The first edition of the Saudi Film Confex featured over one hundred global figures and experts, with fifty speakers including executives, investors, and professionals from around the world. Various entities showcased their services and the latest innovations and technologies. The forum, the first of its kind, spanned over forty thousand m, offering dedicated areas for workshops over three days, specialized training sessions covering various industry-related topics, and an inspiration zone where creators shared their journeys and key industry directions.
Zones of the Saudi Film Confex
The innovation zone hosted areas displaying the latest technologies and new product concepts, and an "exhibition of destinations" highlighting key filming locations in the Kingdom. It also provided an interactive activities area where talented individuals and enthusiasts could unleash their ideas through interactive platforms and new technologies, and an experience zone for visitors to learn about the latest developments and trends in the film industry. Additionally, a business area was designated for signing agreements, partnerships, and holding meetings.
