Establishment of the Arabian Cement Company

Arabian Cement Company was established in accordance with the Companies Law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pursuant to Royal Decree No. 731 dated January 5, 1955, operating under Commercial Registration No. 4030000148 issued in the city of Jeddah City on April 13, 1957. The foundation stone of the Arabian Cement Company's factory in Jeddah was laid in 1957, with a production capacity that reached two thousand t of clinker per day in 1975. With urban expansion, operations moved to the company's factory in Rabigh in 1984, with a production capacity of four thousand t of clinker per day, and the factory was inaugurated in 1986.

The activity of Arabian Cement Company is the production and trade of cement, building materials, and related accessories and derivatives. The company produces cement and clinker through its factory in Rabigh, close to its main markets. With the growing demand for cement, a new line (Line Five) was added in 1996 with a production capacity of four thousand t of clinker per day, bringing the total designed production capacity of the factory to eight thousand t of clinker per day. In 2009, an additional expansion (Line Six) was added to the factory with a production capacity of seven thousand t of clinker per day, and the four old lines were decommissioned, increasing the designed production capacity of the factory to 11,000 t of clinker per day. Improvements to the operational processes led to achieving high operating rates and performance, bringing the production capacity of the company's factory to 12,200 t of clinker per day, equivalent to 13,000 t of Ordinary Portland Cement per day. In 2007, the company established the Qatrana Cement Company in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (86.74 percent ownership) with a production capacity of five thousand t of clinker per day, equivalent to 5,300 t of Ordinary Portland Cement per day. The company entered the commercial operation phase in 2011.

Production and markets of Arabian Cement Company

The company targets the markets of the western region of the Kingdom (Makkah al-Mukarramah and al-Madinah al-Munawwarah Provinces) in particular. The designed production capacity of the Arabian Cement Factory in Rabigh is 3.8 million t of clinker annually, and the grinding capacity of cement is approximately six million t annually. The company produces four main types of high-quality cement in accordance with approved local and international specifications (Ordinary Portland Cement, Pozzolanic Cement, Sulfate Resisting Cement, and Finishing Cement). The production capacity of the company's subsidiary (Qatrana Cement) in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is 1.8 million t of clinker annually, and the grinding capacity of cement is approximately 2.0 million t annually, targeting the Jordanian markets in addition to exporting to several neighboring countries.

Cement Products Industry Co. Ltd is a limited liability company established in 1972 by three cement companies in the Kingdom with equal shares: Saudi Cement Company, Yamama Cement Company, and Arabian Cement Company. It is considered a pioneer in the manufacture of cement bags in the Middle East.

The factory of the Cement Products Industry Company Limited is located in King Abdullah Economic City - Industrial Valley, and its designed capacity exceeds 360 million bags annually with five production lines. The factory is equipped with German technologies to produce packaging bags that can be used for various materials such as building materials, fertilizers, food products, animal feed, flour, chemical and petrochemical products, agricultural products, and others. Cement Products Industry Co. Ltd serves the local market in addition to exporting its products to neighboring countries (Iraq, Yemen, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan) and other countries.
