King Abdulaziz Sport City, supervised by the Ministry of Sport, is a multipurpose sport facility in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that hosts matches and various sporting events.
Establishment of King Abdulaziz Sport City
About a year and a half after King Fahd Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud assumed office, King Abdulaziz Sport City was established in 1984. The city is located in the eastern part of Makkah al-Mukarramah, about 12 km from the Grand Mosque borders in Ash-Sharaʼi district. King Abdulaziz Sport City is specifically situated near King Faisal Road, which intersects with Al-Sail Road connecting Makkah al-Mukarramah and Taif.

Along with King Abdullah Sport City in Jeddah, King Abdulaziz Sport City has an area of around 896,000 m, and hosts various sporting events in the western region.
Facilities of King Abdulaziz Sport City
The city includes a number of facilities, such as the sports stadium, which consists of a natural grass field, a running track, an international indoor hall for swimming and aqua games, in addition to a world-class indoor gymnasium, an additional football field, and two groups of outdoor fields for training.
Furthermore, the city offers a variety of amenities, such as the social center building (youth house), residential buildings for athletes and students, residences for VIP guests, a mosque, and several outdoor yards, parks, and parking areas.
King Abdulaziz Sport City Stadium
The City Stadium usually hosts football matches, with a capacity of about thirty-three thousand seats. It may also host official ceremonies, among other events. It is widely known among sports fans by several names, including, The Fire Stadium an Ash-Shaea'i Stadium.
