The Saudi Basketball Federation (SBF) is one of the sports federations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is responsible for basketball across teams and clubs, and manages its local and international championships. It was established in 1963 and is headquartered in the capital, Riyadh.
SBF undertakes several tasks, most notably supervising the organization and management of basketball affairs, raising the technical level of Saudi referees and players to access international competitions, organizing competitions and tournaments, and monitoring the status and transfers of players.
SBF championships
SBF supervises several local basketball championships, most notably the Saudi Basketball League, the Saudi Premier League, the Youth League, the Junior League, and the Women’s Premier League. SBF includes sixty-four clubs, 2,304 male and female players, and four national teams, namely the first, youth, junior, and women’s teams.
SBF regulatory arrangements
SBF is a sports entity with an independent legal personality. Its budget includes support funds provided by the State and sponsorships.
